11 of our Scouts took part in this excellent District walking competition run and organised by DUSAG.  They went out as two teams and set off on their routes from 19th Durham's Scout Hut at Nevilles Cross navigating a given route in opposite directions.  On the way round they had challenge bases to complete, which tested their team work skills.
Fortunately the weather stayed kind and dry, with only a slight shower and they both completed the circute and got back to the hut on time.  They were up against other Scout Groups from within the District and overall they did really well - All that recent navigation practice has obviously paid off.
The circular route took in Nevilles Cross, Bearpark and Broompark and the Deerness and Lanchester bridle paths.
The two teams even met each other half way round their routes and were full of high spirits.
Well done and once the results are out we will let you know.
We had 2 Cubs and 4 Scouts taking part in this excellent County competition held at Simonside Climbing Centre in South Shields, on Sunday.
Each of then did a lot of climbing and did really well and can be proud of what they achieved.
Overall there were 90 cubs at the morning session and as many again for the Scout session on the afternoon.  To say it was a busy day would be a bit of an understatement and we reckon the Scout volunteers who were belaying would have definately slept that night when they got home, as they were still in full swing later in the evening, dealing with Explorers and then Network.
The District did really well over all and all results can be found on the Climb When Ready Website.
